Built on a solid foundation of video firsts and Emmy®-award winning technology, Concurrent converged video solutions empower customers across all content delivery networks to better deliver, monetize and drive the future of video.
A key component of the MediaHawk® Converged Video Solution (CVS), the MediaHawk 4500 video server features Gatling Resilient Streaming Technology™, which automatically detects failures and instantly routes stream demands to alternate resources in order to prevent any interruption of VOD sessions. Concurrent was the first to introduce a resilient real-time ingest solution for time shifted TV. Using Concurrent’s Real-Time Pitcher 2000 and Real-Time Catcher 2000, operators can build a real-time content distribution solution that can support uninterrupted service in the event of a component, network link, disk, disk array or file system issue.
Concurrent’s MediaHawk Converged Video Solution represents the highest density commercial off-th- shelf (COTS) video ingest and delivery platform available in the marketplace: Concurrent’s CVS software and video file system is optimized for video delivery. Traditional file systems are designed for small block data transfers, making them inefficient for writing and reading high definition video files. Concurrent’s video file system supports large block data transfers that enable the video application software to efficiently read and write video data – increasing the ingest and output bandwidth capabilities of COTS hardware.
Concurrent’s MediaHawk solution is designed to support independent scaling of ingest, storage, delivery, and caching capacity. Using a modular approach to building the on demand platform enables Concurrent’s CVS solution to fit within a wide variety of deployment architectures – from large scale centralized configurations to small- scale edge configurations and everything in between.
Concurrent’s MediaHawk CVS is deployed by major service providers worldwide, including Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable, Cogeco, Videotron and J:COM. The modular system design supports centralized, distributed, library and edge cache designs across a variety of networks, including cable, IPTV, Internet and wireless protocols. To date, Concurrent has deployed over 1.5 million video streams in 26 countries.
Concurrent has unique industry experience in managing large data sets, with in-depth expertise in media data infrastructure solutions and logistics, warehousing and business intelligence technologies. Concurrent has contributed to the development of industry standards in database architectures, multi-vendor interfaces, and data transport and exchange mechanisms. Data measurement and standardized metrics are critical to the success of advanced service offerings, along with emphasizing granular, in-depth data for programmers and advertisers. Correlating data from disparate mediums, such as TV, VOD, online and mobile devices, as well as across differing service providers, will produce a comprehensive view of the consumer experience, thus allowing operators to refine their own content strategies, and better position their marketing and promotional activities, with the goal of not only reducing churn, but increasing service usage and increasing per-subscriber revenue.
Understanding subscriber data is the key to maximizing the value of video. Through our unique Media Data product portfolio, Concurrent leads the cable and telecommunications industry with the world's largest deployment of interactive media data infrastructure solutions and operational logistics services. We leverage our industry defining intellectual property and solutions to keep our customers on the cutting edge of the Targeted Advertising evolution
