ATLANTA—August 18, 2011 — Concurrent (NASDAQ: CCUR), a global leader in video and media data and advertising solutions, today launched the eFactor™ product suite. This new workflow and distribution software platform simplifies the complex task of delivering multi-format video to a wide range of devices addressing preparation, packaging, policy, protection, and delivery of high quality video.
“Concurrent has been providing Emmy Award-winning video solutions to the Pay TV industry for 12 years,” said David King, Concurrent’s chief marketing officer and senior vice president of video solutions. “eFactor builds on our success with service providers, and opens up new market opportunities for us to pursue. CDNs, Internet content aggregators, telcos and cable MSOs can now leverage the video leadership Concurrent has achieved for high quality video solutions that simplify delivery.”
Concurrent focused its eFactor development efforts on reducing the complexities of delivering video to a growing population of disparate connected devices. Content producers and service providers must currently prepare and package video content for delivery over three market-leading HTTP adaptive bitrate formats, including Apple®, Adobe® and Microsoft®. Concurrent’s Transmux solution removes that complexity by repackaging a single source asset on-the-fly, while offering flexibility to support future formats. This greatly simplifies workflow and results in savings on both capital and operational expenditures, while reaching the widest audience possible.
“The industry has been yearning for a solution to the complexities of delivering high quality video to any device,” said Jim Denenny, Concurrent’s general manager and vice president of online media solutions. “Concurrent has a rich history as a proven video solutions leader in our core service provider market. We’re now capitalizing on that experience with a flexible and valuable product suite that enables existing and new customers to provide high quality video services.”
eFactor’s Transmux is offered as a software development kit (SDK) or as an integrated feature in eFactor multi-format origin and edge servers, offering Concurrent’s customers ultimate flexibility. CDNs with substantial investment in existing infrastructure can seamlessly add value to their services by integrating Concurrent’s Transmux SDK with their existing servers. Customers that do not have existing infrastructure will benefit from fully packaged eFactor origin and edge servers that support on-the-fly Transmux of live and on-demand content.
