BULLETIN NUMBER: SWB-046
DATE ISSUED: November 16, 2005
DATE CLOSED: November 16, 2005
AFFECTED SYSTEMS: PowerHawk Series 700/900
RELEASE LEVEL: PowerMAX OS 6.1SR2 (man-002), 6.2SR1 (man-001)
EXPLANATION:
Installation of these “man” package service releases will result in an initial failure that also
causes any following service release components to fail to install. The problem is dueto the service release’s installation script expecting the three catman pages listed below toalready exist on the system being upgraded. However, these files do not exist, resultingin the failure to install the “man” service release.
RESOLUTION: The workaround to this problem is to:
1) Touch the following files on the system being upgraded prior to service release installation.
# touch /usr/share/man/cat3/dwarf_init.3x.z
# touch /usr/share/man/cat3/dwarf_pclines.3x.z
# touch /usr/share/man/cat3/rmalloc.3d.z
2) Proceed with the service release installation.
This problem has been fixed in PowerMAX OS 6.3, which replaces the 6.1SR2 and 6.2SR1
service releases.
